Aldi plush throw blanket12/1/2023 Serra Lounge Wear Ladies Cozy Knit Slipper Socks Today, I’m looking at two cozy Aldi products currently in stores: The Serra Lounge Wear Ladies Cozy Knit Slipper Socks and the Huntington Home Velvet Plush Sherpa Throw. Hygge is a Danish term that is difficult to directly translate but basically encompasses a feeling of coziness and contentment with simple things. These are all the kinds of things that make us want to stay in for the evening, to put on comfortable clothes and settle on the couch with family, a hot drink, and maybe a favorite movie or a book. I also could go on about all the coffee, hot cocoa, and baked goods that appear this time of year. Shelves are filled with slippers, pajamas, robes, blankets, socks, velvet and flannel sheets, and candles. We especially like the hand pockets sewn into the blankets. It’s the time of year when Aldi stocks its stores with all sorts of cozy things for the colder days that are coming … or may already be here, depending on where you live. Huntington Home Hooded Plush Throws come in cute dog, dinosaur, unicorn, and llamacorn designs and are a good bargain if you’re looking for a fun and functional gift for kids. I’m probably the only one who notices at this point, and my kids don’t mind, so for $9 it’s not bad. Of course, I easily fixed this by carefully cutting the tags off as close to the blanket as possible, but it left some small remnants of the tags behind. My only complaint about these throws is very minor, and that is that the care tags and that pesky tag that’s only supposed to be removed by the consumer “under penalty of law” are sewn into a very noticeable and unflattering spot on the back of the hood (look closely in the side-view photo above and you’ll see the tags’ profile sticking out just behind the head). It’s smaller on my middle schooler, but she still loves it and “wears” it all over the house and says it feels a bit like a robe. When my almost-9-year-old wears her throw on her head while standing up, it comes down almost to her heels, so she has plenty of coverage. In terms of size, these are definitely made for kids, but they have some flexibility depending on how much blanket coverage you want. They match some character backrest pillows that hit store shelves the same week, so you can make a set with a throw blanket and pillow if you want to. I purchased the dog and llamacorn throws for my kids, and I also got the dog character backrest. These throws come in four designs: a dinosaur, dog, unicorn, or llamacorn (a combination of a llama and a unicorn). These are Aldi Finds (Special Buys), which means they’re only in stores for a short time. Huntington Home Hooded Plush Throws cost $8.99 each at the time of publication. My kids recently noticed some hooded plush throw blankets in the Aldi ad, and I picked some up as a sort of early back-to-school gift. Either way, during this time of year, you’re likely to spot neat products such as indoor play tents, bed canopies, character backrest pillows, and more. Or maybe they think younger kids need to have a little fun before it’s time to hit the school books again. Maybe it’s because Aldi also sells a lot of cool items for decking out dorm rooms during this same time period, and the retailer doesn’t want to forget the younger crowd. Late in the summer months, Aldi often sells fun accessories for kids’ bedrooms or playrooms. EDITOR’S NOTE: Aldi is selling these again in September of 2021 for the same price of $8.99.
